i am with one strap less

This camisole came as the underneath to a Marc Jacobs blouse I got a few months ago. But I've been wearing it as a single piece more than a duo because of the insane heat wave over the past weeks. Until last Thursday when the strap broke. Instead of easily sewing one small stitch to repair it I've been finding ways to wear it anyway. Because we all know that going to the drug store and getting a mini sewing kit is too much work. Plus, I left mine in San Francisco and I really hate buying things I already own, no matter where they are in the world. I'm using this cheap elastic training bra and the solution to my strap problem.

it reaks of thrift store

Me and a girlfriend drove out of the city so we could discover those real kind of cheap thrift stores. We found a gold mine.

These were the triumph of my day:

All of this for how much you ask?

$12.

I have said to myself many times that I'm going to stop thrift shopping and put my money towards more quality, timeless things. After that declaration, I've slowly transformed nearly half of my wardrobe into quality clothes and the rest being second hand. I'm pretty proud of that ratio. I don't think I will ever be able stop. I even looked down at my outfit today and realized wow, everything I'm wearing came from a thrift store, oh well.

4. Shorts

I have never actually worn this as a so called mini dress, for us taller folk it's a tad scandalous.

baggage

The previous occupant of my room, also good friend of mine, left many things behind before moving to Singapore. All I've really known about the garbage bags of stuff in our living room is that they are off to Goodwill. Last night, I was in one of those 'eat healthy-start working out' kicks that usually come around once a month for one day. So when I saw a new yoga mat sticking out of one of those bags I figured I'd make use of it. As the top of the garbage bag opened slightly I noticed there were lots of different goodies, so I started ravaging through every single one. I found some pretty unbelievable stuff, including her Balenciaga bag that I always used to drool over. To good to be true right?

It was.

After thinking I was on my own little shopping spree until the nearly 4am, I spoke with my roommate today. I was telling her that I went through all of those bags wondering why she would just give this stuff away and how excited I was. Turns out the small plastic bins to the left of treasure pile were the items going to Goodwill, not all of the glorious things I already became attached to. No no, they are going into storage. I'm such a tool.

After feeling kind of depressed by putting all of my finds back into garbage bags, the only item I really felt serious heart ache for was the Balenciaga. That poor thing does not deserve to be in a black garbage bag, so I folded it nicely on top to let it breathe.

Now I am starting a handbag fund. 20 bucks here, 20 bucks there and I figure I will have one in the next 6 months.

If any of you know a great site to get cheap (or used) high end hand bags please let me know!

Top of the list:

Chloe Paraty Bag

Balenciaga Day Bag (this was hers except in navy)

Thomas Wylde Fringe Bag

YSL Besace Bag

Oh and P.S. I now own trigg and trig! Now that I have switched over to triggandtrig.com all of my blog roll got erased! If you are missing and were on it before, let me know.
